I spend the majority of my days working to infuse equal amounts of sound advice and smart humor into this column. More often then not, things work out beautifully; but there are times when…well let’s just say that my approach doesn’t quite work out in the way that I intended.

When those missteps are made, I can’t spend my days dwelling on what I did wrong. Why? Because if all of my energy is dedicated towards the unfortunate circumstances of the past, then absolutely no progress can be made towards me achieving a better, brighter future.

Many of us experience a similar fate when it comes to our love lives. We make mistakes, fall in love with the wrong person, or just do a million and one things we wish could either be erased or reversed. Unfortunately, that will never happen…no matter how long we dwell on the situation.

So instead of keeping our lives perpetually stuck in neutral, it’s time to free ourselves from the bondage that’s caused by regret. Now is the time to learn how to finally let it go. It’s over now.
