Heartbreak comes in many forms. And while they’re all painful, the most tragic of them all is the type that’s self-inflicted. To have found true love, only to lose it due to your own foolish actions is a tough pill to swallow. Your existence then becomes consumed with your desire to find answers and to reconcile the matter both internally and with the one that got away.

This is perhaps the easiest piece that I’ve ever had to write. It’s easy in the sense that expressing my love for you has never been difficult. You’re ingrained in my DNA, and are now officially a part of my being. So it’s only right that I share with the rest of the world my eternal gratitude for one of God’s greatest gifts.

I’ve decided to change up the approach to my Fly Poetry section today. Instead of featuring a traditional poem, I wanted to post the lyrics to a song that me to reads like beautiful poetry (Not to mention the fact that it now has a very special meaning to me.)

Have you ever reminisced on what it felt like to be young and in love? Well today’s Audio Love taps into the very innocence of that love … even though it usually only lasted for a few days. So here are some songs that conjure up thoughts of a time in life when love seemed so simple.

Over the past week, I’ve received at least ten different emails from readers essentially expressing the same frustration: “Love sucks.” And as they detailed their very personal and private situations, I could agree that when judging love strictly through their circumstances, it did appear to suck. Thankfully (which is what I hope to share with them) things will eventually get better.

I don’t know what you want me to do. I’m sorry that your feelings are hurt right now, but I told you not to fall in love with me. I thought it was very clear that we were just having fun. You told me that you understood, and were cool with us just hanging out.

You are simply beautiful. Point blank … period. As I lay awake last night, wishing you were by my side, all I could think about was how truly wonderful you are. There’s just no other way for me to articulate the depth of my feelings.

I know I’ve made mistakes in the past, but that has nothing to do with the here and now. At this very moment, all I can think about is how I need you in my life.
