There’s no super deep point to be made in this piece … just a quick observation. I was watching this YouTube clip of Boyz II Men singing “Please Don’t Go” and “Can You Stand The Rain” acapella, and the harmony was absolutely picture perfect. Every note, every phrase, and every accent appeared to seamlessly fit together in what can only be described as auditory magnificence.

But after listening a few times, I began to yearn for a day when men and women could seamlessly fit together in a similar fashion—a day when we weren’t fighting against each other, but were instead working to provide a relationship sound that was just as beautiful … and just as melodious.

I wonder if it’s possible. What do you think?

Never let life consume you to the point where you fail to seize any and every opportunity to express thankfulness and appreciation for the special people in your life. So in honor of the Thanksgiving holiday that just passed, I thought I’d pull out some of the songs currently on my playlist that accurately say “thank you and I love you.”

Over the past week, I’ve received at least ten different emails from readers essentially expressing the same frustration: “Love sucks.” And as they detailed their very personal and private situations, I could agree that when judging love strictly through their circumstances, it did appear to suck. Thankfully (which is what I hope to share with them) things will eventually get better.

What I’ve learned is this; dark days come to us all. But during those rough patches, we can’t lose sight of the positives of love. While unfortunate, our past and present pain is only temporary, and can eventually be replaced by what we all instinctively desire: love in its purest form.

In honor of that sentiment, I decided to start your day off with some love-inspired music, both old and new. I hope it reminds you all of the endless possibilities and promise of love. Enjoy your day.

Once upon a time, you could look your loved one in the eyes and say, “I love you, and need you in my life….please don’t go.” And more often than not, she would stay. But those days are long gone, as love has suddenly become more complicated than the time I tried to learn the names of Flava Flav’s kids (Hey, I actually did better than him.)

This dilemma begs the following question to be asked: What happened to the days when love flowed freely and was easy like Sunday morning? And how can we get back to those days? Or is it even possible?
