Balancing Business and Pleasure

How do you balance your life as “The Fly Guy” with your own personal love life? The reason I’m asking is because my boyfriend is also in the entertainment industry, and he always gives me the “I’m too busy” line when it’s time for us to be together. Is there a way for us to create some type of balance in our relationship, or should I just settle for being the mistress to his real woman, which seems to be his career?

A Communication Gap

Dear Fly Guy,

My girlfriend and I are having some serious communication issues right now. It seems like the longer we’ve been together, the harder it is for us to talk about anything. I know that we both love each other, but things just feel so forced right now. I really wish there was a way for us to get this part of our relationship turned around. Any suggestions?

Will He Ever Grow Up?

Dear Fly Guy,
I’m stuck in a love triangle and I want out. The creepy thing is that the other woman is my boyfriend’s mother. I’m 34 years old, and have never dated a man who was this close to his mother before. They talk at least 10 to 15 times a day, and when they [...]

Did He Play Me?

Dear Fly Guy,
My boyfriend and I have been together for almost two years now, and for the most part things have been great. In my heart, I really believe that he’s the one for me. Recently we had a talk about marriage, and I told him that I wanted us to be engaged by October. [...]

He Said He Changed

Dear Fly Guy,

I’m so confused right now. I have never experienced hurt like I did with my last boyfriend. He broke my heart, destroyed my faith in men, and robbed me of my self esteem. Now that I’ve finally started to heal, here he comes trying to make things right with me.

Should We Try Again?

Dear Fly Guy
My husband and I got married when I was 25 and he was 27. After the wedding, we moved to an area where he could get a job, which was fine since I’m a teacher and had much more flexibility.
During the first year of marriage, he started having an affair, which resulted in [...]

An Open Letter to Clifford Harris Jr., aka T.I.

Dear Mr. Harris,

I have to say that I’m a bit confused by certain events that recently transpired in your life. I’m writing this in hopes that maybe you can clear a few things up for me. You and I have crossed paths on more than a few occasions, which was inevitable considering the fact that I am an entertainment journalist, and you are an entertainer…it was just bound to happen

Volume 36- Dating While Divorcing

Once upon a time, the phrase “Till death do us part,” was widely regarded as one of the most important declarations that one could ever make in their life. But now as the divorce rate in America continues to climb higher than R. Kelly’s pulse at a debutante ball, that once time-honored vow has now been replaced with something along the lines of, “Let’s part before one of us kills the other.”

The Purpose of A Girlfriend

Dear Fly Guy,
I’ve been asking myself this question over and over again, so I figured I’d share it with you. Exactly what is the purpose of a girlfriend? Because for the love of God I just don’t know right now. I thought I was ready to commit to my current girlfriend, but each day I [...]

Getting Her Attention

Dear Fly Guy,

There is this girl that I tend to always bump into out on the networking scene. She has got to be the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my life. Most men shy away from even approaching her and I’ve kind of followed suit. She just seems too beautiful to ever be interested in me or anyone else regular for that matter. What is your take on this, and how can I gain the confidence to get her to notice me. Thanks.
