Let’s switch roles for a moment because I really need to discuss something with you. (Yeah, I’m stepping out of Fly Guy mode for just a sec.) You see, there’s this special someone that I’ve cared about for as long as I can remember. And honestly, if you would have asked me a few years back, I probably would have told you that I’d love her forever.

But things have a way of changing over time. Before I realized what was happening, she had gone from being the apple of my eye, to just an eye sore. Listen, I know my feelings shouldn’t be based on her physical attributes alone, but what if the change in her appearance is so drastic that I no longer recognize the person I initially fell for? Anyway, I can’t form the words to tell her that I want out, so if you happen to run into her, please relay this message. That’s right; I’m taking the coward way out on this one…

Fly Question- Tell me about a time when you lost interest in someone, and your decision was strictly based on their physical appearance. How did you break the news to them? Did you tell the truth, or make up some other reason?

Today’s Fly Question of the Day:

If you could improve one thing about your relationship with men with just the push of a button, what would it be?

For the men, same question applies.

I never thought it was possible for me to sink this low, or to feel this bad. But it’s happened, and now I’m clueless as to how to get over it.

“Why didn’t I listen to all of those people who tried to warn me?”
“Why do I have to be so stubborn at times?”

I can’t stop beating myself up with all of these “why” questions; even though I know in my heart that the questions won’t change a thing. At the end of the day, I made the decision, and now I have to live with the consequences—regardless of how painful they may be.

I just can’t believe I watched M. Knight Shyamalan’s The Happening though. This had to be one of the worst movie ever made.

May God have mercy on my soul … and M. Knight Shyamalan’s soul as well.

I stumbled upon this joke that I wanted to share with you guys. Now before you read it, know this: I’m not trying to say that this will have you doubled over laughing harder than the time we had to sit through Jennifer Lopez’s MTV Unplugged concert; but still … I believe it provides both a funny and smart perspective on the give-and-take that goes into making relationships work … especially when it comes to the unenviable task of ending an argument.

A husband and wife were involved in a petty argument, both of them unwilling to admit they might be in error.

“I’ll admit I’m wrong,” the wife told her husband in a conciliatory attempt, “but only if you’ll admit that I’m right.”

The husband agreed and like a gentleman, he insisted she go first.

“I’m wrong,” she said.

With a twinkle in his eye, he responded, “You’re right!”

I thought I’d take a brief break from love and relationships to get your weekend off on the right foot with a good laugh. This video had me rolling.

I just received an email which contained a video clip of a news reporter in Augusta, GA doing a special report on school violence. At the first, the reporter seems cool, calm and collected ….until … well you’ll just have to watch the clip.

The Fly Question:
After he flipped the f*@% out, it prompted me to ask the following question:

Have you ever been in a relationship where a traumatic experience brought out your significant other’s ugly side? And by ugly side, I mean one that you didn’t even know existed. If so, tell me what happened and how you handled it.

I was recently stopped in the grocery store by a male reader who recognized me from some of my old Fly Guy videos. After briefly exchanging pleasantries, the conversation became serious, as he began to lay out a series of dating mishaps that he recently endured.

“How do I turn the tide Fly Guy,” he pleaded. “It seems like I keep sabotaging myself with idiotic decisions. Can you offer me any advice?”

Well my standard answer in those types of situations is to simply encourage the person to relax and be themselves. Of course when I told him this, he thanked me and went on his way … and that was that. But as I scanned the blog universe today, I stumbled across a picture that forced me to rethink my advice.

So “guy from the grocery store,” if you happen to be reading this; know that I still stand behind my advice about being yourself. But if “being yourself” with a woman ever includes doing something like this….

Then think again.

I’m not sure what Marques Houston was thinking when he took this picture. But when I first saw it, I wasn’t sure if I should ask him to cover up or ask how far apart his contractions were.

This is not the way the impress a woman. Can the church say Amen?
