I recently hung out with actor/comedian Marlon Wayans in Los Angeles, as we worked to produce a cover shoot for Rolling Out Magazine (visit here). Towards the end of our time, we got a chance to jump into my favorite topic, love and relationships. Check out Marlon as he shares his perspective on a litany of topics that range from his first date, to a man’s strategy for winning a woman’s heart. Enjoy.

Truth….. I’m a chick and I have said all of that… but folks think I’m crazy when I say it! I don’t want someone to be with me unless they want to be…. and you’re so right if you just be yourself she will love and respect you. Gotta have respect along with the love or else you just get Cr-azy!

True story, fam. I’m trying to tell my girl of 10 years this shit RIGHT now. There are LOTS of people that simply DON’T understand what it is to be a successful relationship. Girls and guys playing dressup according to the shit they see on TV that girls SAY they like. You’ll NEVER know the type of person that the REAL YOU can attract if you just DO YOU. And it won’t be a music video hoodrat bitch that’s in the Usain Bolt position, WAITING for that Bently to get a dent in it so that she can bounce to the nigga with the Rose. Hoes will be hoes, but I’mma be me. Beyond understanding, acceptance, and endurance, Love is God, a HUGE factor missing in relationships. I think that this interview can speak VOLUMES to those who are ready to listen and take the knowledge that typically comes with age and wisdom! Ive been a fan for a long time and Im 37 and I KNOW that I would NOT have been ready to learn those lessons early on…but you are right about one thing in particular for me…WOMEN LOVE TO LAUGH…me especially, it take ZERO energy to smile and let a beautiful spirit shine through with laughter..please keep doin what you do!! Great interview! One can tell, just from that interview, that Marlon has grown in wisdom, and his, effortless, humor is definitely still there! I fell on the floor in laughter when he said;”You don’t hit me in the nuts, and I won’t hit you. That’s our agreement(while pretending to shake hands).” Loved it, still laughing(I’m silly anyway though)!!! Lmao!
