I notice that you feature music a lot on your site, so I’m hoping that you can help me. My wife and I have been together for about 5 years now, and we’re always playing music when it’s time to set the mood. The only problem is that Maxwell’s first album just doesn’t have the same effect that it used to. Can you help us?

Thanks for reaching out. I think it’s great that you’re actively searching for ways to keep the spark lit in your marriage. As men, we often get a bad rap when it comes to marriage, so your letter is a refreshing reminder of the legions of good men out there who care about the success of their relationships.
As far as music goes, I would suggest that you each pick 10 of your favorite “mood” songs, and combine them to form one master playlist. And if I can make one final suggestion, I’d ask that you add this one particular song to the playlist … trust me; it’s a winner. Listen to it below, and enjoy the ensuing moments with your wife. Yes. The Robin Thicke song is put-me-in-he-mood-worthy. But adding some old school in the mix will help…Marvin Gaye, Luther, Isley Brothers, The O’Jays, heck even throw some R. in there!
Relying on ONE album may not be the key. But it is good to see a man working on keeping his woman happy. Maybe he has a brother? :-S
