Never let life consume you to the point where you fail to seize any and every opportunity to express thankfulness and appreciation for the special people in your life. So in honor of the Thanksgiving holiday that just passed, I thought I’d pull out some of the songs currently on my playlist that accurately say “thank you and I love you.”

How do I break the news to you? Even though we don’t talk like we used to, we still never officially parted ways. In many ways, we just drifted apart, allowing life to carry on as if we never were. But we were … and now I’m faced with the unenviable task of letting you know that I’ve found someone new.

Attention men: Apparently there’s more than few things that continues to get under the skin of that special lady in your life. In fact, it’s probably annoyed her so much that she’s already memorized the following article, printed it out and taped it on her refrigerator as a daily devotional.

My favorite chef Carmisha (ChefCarmisha.com) decided to stop by and share a new recipe that’s perfect for those quiet, romantic evenings at home. And even if you don’t have one of those planned, you can always try it out on me … hey, I never turn down a home-cooked meal.

“I’ve wasted so much time.” At least that’s how I felt after watching the latest video from Los Angeles Lakers star, Ron Artest. You see, I’ve spent so many hours researching the perfect way to express my thoughts and desires to a woman, when all I had to do was follow the example set by Artest.

I’m exhausted. After months of begging, pleading, compromising, bending over backwards, and over compensating, I’m officially done. It’s become abundantly clear that I’ll never be good enough for you … no correction; I’ll never be good enough for your friends.

My Life Goal: I’m currently working on my master’s degree in public health administration, so I’m optimistic about things professionally. But to me, that pales in comparison to my life goals of being a great wife, mother and example for young women.

Why I’m Fly: I’m fly because God loves me, and there isn’t anyone in this world that can convince me otherwise. I’m fly because I have a great family, and a strong support system in place. I’m fly because I’m happy, healthy and loved. I’m fly because I’ve faced a lot of adversity in my life, but I’m still here and I’m still smiling.

I’ve been a little under the weather the past few days, so you’ll have to excuse me if my writing feels a little “dry.” It’s not that I’ve completely lost my sense of humor, but searching for the funny in life and in love gets to be tedious when you can’t breathe out of your left nostril. But that minor inconvenience aside, this time in bed has really given me an opportunity to reflect on my life…
