On another note, I am sorry but some of the effin nonsense that make it to YouTube only does so because of messed up adults. I once saw a Caribbean one where the kids were dancing boy/girl and doing the most disgusting gyrations on each others' groins (I could have sworn they were simulating sex) that I promptly told the person to NEVER send me anything like that again & deleted it. But sadly, when we are disgusted - we somehow have time click 'forward' and increase 'hits' to it, which to me is encouraging such posts in the first place.

@msbliss: You would be surprised how some women can be sooo into their children that even any small attempt by a man to get her alone can fail. I wish you could meet my friend called Judy (not real name of course). Her hubby would regularly organise something just for them 2 to 'get away' and she would spend 90% of her time whining about how she missed her baby & calling to find out if the baby is OK. To the point where the hubby just said it out loud, that he was done trying to make her happy. There are some women who get like that, so some men have a reason to suggest these rules...

1. Promise me that you’ll continue to work hard at being a good wife and not devote all of your attention to motherhood. (In return, I promise to do the same.)
Well If you are going to be a good wife then why do both of us have to do it? You do it and I'll focus on the baby :P...seriously though, thats a very important point that you raise...some women forget other essential parts of their lives/relationships and some men become too obsessed with feeling "unappreciated" because of the new 'bundle of joy' . Its a new situation that both partners have to work at. :)

FG didn't say he was jealous, YOU said a lot of men get jealous. It isn't a matter of jealousy; this stuff really happens. It probably bothers you because YOU want HIM to carry the load. Where's this hostility coming from? THIS ISN'T A CHESSGAME.....The first point is about BOTH spouses being good to each other, while becoming good parents................and not letting one diminish the other.

I wouldn't call what I said a rule ... it's more like an agreement that I believe all couples should make. Many times, both men and women lose sight of the relationship as they are so focused on the kids. While that should be a primary focus, you can't lose sight of the relationship between the two of you. You have to continue to work at it.

I only have a comment for the first rule-Why do a lot of men get jealous of the attention their kids get from thrir partner? That has always bothered me cause if its that damn deep Why doesn't the man go out of his way to get his woman to himself. Hire a sitter & keep her 2 urself for a while. Any good woman will offer more of her time 2 her man if he did that cause she would see how important that is 2 him verses him whining, complaining, or heaven forbid cheating.

@Jane: You took the words right out of my mouth. This is far from cute. But sadly, I am not surprised.
