So many believe that domestic violence occurs only to the uneducated, the lower class, housewives, etc. This is simply not true. Degrees do not shield a fist nor is a 6 figure job a barrier for audacity. Love & dreams of a happier future or recollections of a romantic past have the possibility (most times, probability) of overcoming the logic that tells us to exit these situations. Sacrifices, compromises are necessary in relationships, but when the choice becomes necessary between you and him, I pray you choose you. Love yourself more. Kudos to you, FG, for posting this, and though it is my sincere hope that this piece stirs a dialogue that will rival the most popular thus far on your site (lofty hope, I know), I do pray people are reading this and educating themselves.
