It’s been a while since I’ve featured a cocktail in our Fly Recipes section. So in honor of our president’s birthday, I thought it was time for me to unveil our fly guy certified specialty drink called, “The Obama.” This drink is perfect for those times when you just want to hang out with your significant other in a relaxed environment … no valet, just bar stools and the two of you. Here’s the recipe.
Fly Ingredients
1 shot Patron
1 shot Hennessey
1 shot of Grand Marnier
Sweet and sour mix
Directions
Mix that together and sip slow … please sip slow.
Now you may be wondering how we came up with this recipe in the Glaspy Division at Fly Guy Headquarters. Here’s our reasoning behind each ingredient:
Patron
Nothing says excitement like Patron. And just like this drink, President Obama has brought an excitement to politics that hasn’t been felt in decades.
Hennessey
For all of the excitement that he’s brought to politics, Obama is also the epitome of cool. No drink says cool quite like Hennessey, as it’s the quintessential drink for when you want to “smooth it out.”
Grand Marnier
Obama is a man of sophistication and distinction. Here at Fly Guy Headquarters, we believed that a drink created in his honor should be just as sophisticated … thus the addition of Grand Marnier.
Sweet and Sour
This ingredient symbolizes the nation that Obama inherited as president. For every great (sweet) attribute about this nation, there’s something equally problematic (sour) that must be addressed. There’s just so much to love and hate about this country right now.
Fly Admonition: Now that you’ve been given the history behind “The Obama,” it’s time to hang out with that special someone and make a toast to the 44th President of the United States of America. Happy Birthday Mr. President.
**special shouts to the mixologists in the Glaspy Division (Donza, Darren, Ben, Janese, Jelana and Tony)
