Unconditional Love With Kanye and Amber Rose

Check out the irony of this: I was sitting here listening to Musiq Soulchild’s “Don’t Change” when I came across a picture of Kanye West and girlfriend Amber Rose just as this line in the song hit:

“I’m not impressed, more or less
By them girls on the TV and magazines
Cuz honestly I believe
Your beauty is way more then skin deep”

Funny right? Well I thought so. In my mind those lyrics and that couple appear to represent two completely different ideals when it comes to the true definition of love. In Musiq’s song, there’s no amount of space, time, or circumstance that can stop his love from growing with each passing day. It’s the kind of love that most secretly desire. But when I look at Kanye and Amber, I’m not sure if that’s what I see. In fact, I’m not sure if they’d survive a bad wardrobe night.

“So what does this have to do with us Fly Guy?”

I’m glad you asked.

Well, the truth is that I’m not sure how they feel about each other. But if the context clues that I’ve gathered are at all accurate, then I’d rather you work towards the type of relationship found in Musiq’s “Don’t Change” instead of basing your relationship on the flash and lack of substance that appears to serve as a foundational principle between West and Rose.

Am I completely off base with this line of reasoning? Let me know your thoughts.

Oh and before I forget, here’s the Musiq video in case you’ve never seen it. It’s still pretty dope to me.

I agree with this. There’s nothing about them that says longevitiy. I bet kanye just likes the fact that he can make a no talent girl famous. That’s probably the only reason he’s with her; his ego.

    Isn’t she a lesbian?

I think she’s bisexual. But that doesn’t really change anything. The idea is less about them, and more about those that seek style over substance within the context of a relationship….I’m not a fan of it.

I view Kanye & Amber Rose as Prince & any of his female vanity projects. It’s not a relationship; she’s his creation. She expresses the sides of him that he can’t as a male & a hip hop artist. I could be way off base, but I’m betting I’m right.

    Anyway…

That video always makes me cry out in jealousy. Ugh!

Kanye’s got a girl? (She does kind of look like a lesbian, though.)

Oh, that’s nice….not that I really cared. LOL

I emailed you a question FG something closely related to an issue like this…your statement: Don’t Change” instead of basing your relationship on the flash and lack of substance that appears to serve as a foundational principle, is exactly what i needed to hear… your the mannnnn…Thanks FG

Like most of Hollywood whose relationships are based off of material bullcrap, this relationship will probably be over with before I finish typing this sentence. LOL

(I’m not hatin’ on Kanye…..I like his music and all. Just keeping it real, as I always do.)

I really disagree! I think the joke is on us. I think the realtionship works because its not based on bullshit. I think they are good friends at the very core of it all and he seems to respect her as his equal. That’s why it works. Just looking at their body language you can tell that.

They’ve been at it for a while now, i reckon if it was for show they would’ve broken up a while ago. They do look good together, who are we to judge? Maybe that’s the perfect r/ship for them, too bad he’s in the spotlight. It’s a give and take situation, just like most r/ships. Yeah, she’s good for his ego but he’s benefiting from her status too. I love Amber and Kanye, even though i don’t agree with certain decisions. Most guys marry certain women for their image or careers. Alexis must be kicking herself somewhere.

I totally agree with you. Isn’t it sad that the world we live in has gotten so out of touch with substance, connection, and actually feeling the one you choose to be with? Glad I found my strong black man when I did. Nonetheless, maybe some people like this sort of thing, having no real connection but a superficial one based on monetary values and material culmination. They can keep that, I wouldn’t have love any other way than what I was blessed enough to find.
