This Is My Grown Man Confession

Before I begin, I have to admit that I’m not entirely sure of what I want to accomplish by writing this. On the one hand, a small part of me wants to use this opportunity to express my optimism in the possibility of there one day being an “us.” On the other hand, I might be better served by rattling off my positive attributes to further stake my claim as all that you could ever want or need in a man.

None of that seems right though … not for this.

For the first time in my life, I have clarity. And through these unobstructed eyes, I see a woman who not only meets, but exceeds my expectations. To be perfectly honest with you, you represent qualities that I never even knew that I wanted in a woman. And I’m spellbound as a result of it.

So as I recalibrate my heart’s compass, and brace myself for the inevitability of you being in my life, a sense of ease slowly overtakes me. My mornings now start with the looming words of my father, who once told me that my success would taste so much sweeter once I had the perfect woman in my life. Well, father knows best … and I think I’m finally ready to experience life’s sugar rush.

And that’s all because of you.
