There's No Shame In Self-Expression

Honest moments of self-expression … I used to be afraid of those. Like most men, the idea of being vulnerable was not something that I was very comfortable with. I had to be a man … at least that’s what I thought I was doing at the time.
But somewhere along the way, I learned the value of honesty … honesty with others, and more importantly, honesty with myself. During those moments of growth, I began to speak my mind as well as my heart whenever the opportunity presented itself.
I’m glad I learned that valuable lesson.
Today I view self-expression not as a sign of vulnerability, but of strength. So if I love you, then I’ll tell you. And if I can’t live without you, then you’ll know that as well.
It didn’t always used to be that way though … but I’ve since grown. I can only hope that my words will somehow influence other men to arrive at this same level of clarity. But until that time comes, I’ll just continue putting pen to pad.
Below are past moments of that honesty…
