I don’t think she knows…
Just how beautiful she is. Hers is a special brand of beauty—one that can’t simply be reduced to a “hey shawty, you bangin’,” or a more polished, “your smile just blew me away,” type of greeting. It’s much deeper than that, as it surpasses any descriptive strictly based on her outward appearance. Her beauty is not only defined by the way that she loves herself, but also by the way that she loves others.
I don’t think she knows…
That the men in her past don’t have to define her present or her future. While life’s journey has dealt her moments of extreme pain and disappointment, the rest of her life doesn’t have to play out that way. She deserves a happily-ever-after ending.
I don’t think she knows…
That when I look at her, I refuse to see the scars left behind by those who abused her love and underestimated her worth. Instead, I see a bold, proud and strong woman that has overcome those setbacks on her way to becoming the extraordinary person that I see today.
I don’t think she knows…
That I’m proud of her. And even if today isn’t one of her brightest moments, the sun will shine again. In the meantime, I hope that she continues to keep her head up and continues to be the amazing woman that I have come to both know and love.
I hope she knows now.
