So here’s the scenario. The weather is bad, the economy is worse, and you and your significant other want to enjoy some quality time together. My solution? Utilize your kitchen and living room by planning a romantic dinner and a movie at home.

The Meal- Strawberry Pasta
Heavy enough to get you satisfied. Light enough to avoid the “itis.”

Ingredients:
1 pint fresh strawberries
1/2 lb. spaghetti
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup heavy cream
mint sprigs for garnish

Preparations:
1. Purée strawberries in blender. Drain to remove seeds.
2. Cook spaghetti according to package. Drain and toss with cheese.
3. Heat butter and cream in a small saucepan.
4. Place pasta in a sealable container, then add strawberries, followed by the butter sauce.
5. Serve with additional cheese and garnish with mint, if desired.

The Drink: Orgasm
Maybe this orgasm can help you get to the other … well, you get the picture.

1/2 oz white creme de cacao
1/2 oz amaretto almond liqueur
1/2 oz triple sec
1/2 oz vodka
1 oz light cream

Shake all ingredients with ice, strain into a chilled cocktail glass, and serve.

The Movie: Monster’s Ball

I actually just found out that there was more to this movie than the 3 minutes I had previously seen. Now I do realize that Monster’s Ball is a very non traditional date night movie selection; but think about it… After Halle says “make me feel good,” it might provide you the opening to do the same.

**Enjoy your evening.

As a chef, I feel it’s very important to try new things. However, I’m kind of nervous about strawberries, pasta, and an alfredo-like sauce. The drink, I will defnitely try though!

Hmmm that spaghetti and strawberry dish sounds very scary… LOL and I love trying new things… and you know Monster’s ball pisses of black people (women and men alike)… may inspire more arguments than… action… unless you like the 2 combined. :-p

    @nana and cdmck,

Don’t be scared. What’s the harm in trying something new?

I actually tried the spaghetti and strawberry dish you can’t really taste the strawberries but when I had it they add tomato paste and sauce with the combo, it overpowered the taste of the strawberries.
