I'm gone keep it as real as can be up in here. IT MATTERS A LOT!! No I'm just playin LOL It matters somewhat. Nice possessions just add onto liking a man that I already liked for many other reasons. I have dated and turned down plenty of men who had money. I didn't always turn them down because they were arrogant or anything like that. It might have been just because they were too flashy or I simply didn't feel a connection. A lot of us could be living it up right now with someone who wanted to marry us and give us a football team of babies but we decided to pass on the money and wait for real love. I don't regret any of my decisions of turning down men who have those attractive worldly possessions. I always think of how I would get along with a person if we somehow became poor. I don't want to be like the people killing themselves and family cuz they can't pay their bills. Got to have something much much deeper starting with Jesus!

The first 3 sentences of JAT's comment pretty much sums it up for me. I'm attracted to will & ambition, determination and by extent, the inanimate exemplars of this. I don't need material possessions; it's just a byproduct of to what I'm attracted.

I agree with eclecticism

That was well said. The material possessions are a cover up for something that he is lacking. " I don't have a heart and lack substance, BUT GIRL LOOK AT MY ASTON MARTIN AND THIS PIC OF MY PENT HOUSE. ARE YOU ROLLING OR WHAT?" lmao

I wanna change my vote! lol I clicked somewhat but after careful consideration I can honestly say "not at all!" Matterial possessions attract attention and peak interest but can't cause you to be attracted to someone. Well, not me anyway. :) If that were so, I'd be attracted to "D" and he just doens't do it for me. Not you Fly Guy, your homeboy. lol People often force themselves to like someone because of what they have and often do so at the expense of true happiness. I think genuine attractons are caused buy things money can't buy. I am a SUCKER for swagger. Good chemistry, a good heart, spirit and sense of humor are some other things that attract me to someone. Unless of course he smells good. That's always a plus! I guess cologne is the exception to my rule. lol

Material possessions play a part in attraction, but only to a certain extent. I like drive and ambition, so if you aren't showing some fruit, then you aren't for real. I also, when thinking of the man that I would bless with my hand in marriage, would look for someone who could provide for a family. I will never be a stay at home mom, but I will never be with someone who isn't bringing as much or more to the table than I am.

But, I am not looking for a dude with Madoff money. Since I'm not at that level, that kind of cashflow is a fantasy nice to have, but not a requirement.

And, most of the dudes that I've met that had a lot of material possessions got on my last nerve (or were unbelievably arrogant), so what little attraction I had disappeared immediately. And, I have to be attracted to the person, because money really doesn't make an ugly dude look better. I still have to wake up to that. And seeing how I can provide my own necessities, his stock isn't as high as he thinks it is. The only thing that would peak my interest to overlook a less than stellar package is intelligence. I love an intellectual man.
