When we started out, we both agreed to take it slow, fully knowing that a strong foundation was needed for us to have any legitimate shot at love. But with that foundation now secure, I can no longer deny what I know to be true…

The (Not So) Fly Scenario: You’ve been with your significant other for years now, and you’re certain that this is the person you’re going to spend the rest of your life with. The same can be said for the lifelong bond that you share with your best friend from high school, as you’ve never had a closer friend. What’s great about the two of them is that they’re both so giving, while never expecting anything in return.

Hi Fly Guy! I am new to your website, but I want to say that the few topics I have read have been very interesting. I agree with you on so many levels, and also realize that having insight about relationships and dating from a man (outside of my current relationship) is key for me!

Sometimes the disappointments of the past can force up walls which prevent us from being open to the advances of another person. It really doesn’t matter what they say or do, or how “wonderful” they may appear to be–we’re just not interested. But ever so often, someone comes along and somehow manages to still grab a hold of our heart. I call those “anyway moments”

She yelled. She pouted. She cried. She yelled some more. She even said that I was insensitive, and suggested that maybe I wasn’t my mother’s child. Now all of this happened within a 30-minute window where all I did was kiss her on the cheek and turn on the “What’s Happening” marathon (seriously, that’s all I did.) The following morning, she called saying that she hoped I wasn’t mad, because that’s just how she gets when her cycle is about to begin.

I purposely decided not to write an official New Year’s resolution column for two reasons. For starters, I just didn’t feel like it. (I mean seriously, don’t you ever get tired of reading those?)
