A buddy once told me that his only wish in life was to meet a hot woman who was only interested in a Friends-With-Benefits type relationship. Now while his aspirations were noble (and a bit lustful), I’m pretty sure he didn’t properly weigh the pros and cons before placing that type of relationship at the top of his priority list.

But I won’t let you blindly follow down that same seedy path. Today is your lucky day, as we will dissect a “Benefits Prospectus Summary,” so you can make an educated decision before completely converting to a life full of FWBs.

Once you’ve finished studying our findings, share with us your thoughts, and in what direction you are now leaning.

  • http://twoditzybroads.blogspot.com Bahama

LMAO!! Fun-e!! and true. But i don’t know if FWB can work..someone is going to eventually wanna be something more than a good lay.

But i also think this needs to be printed up and handed out..Cause some folks don’t know the difference.

  • yes

i just think “movies” on the fwb side of the pie chart should have at home with high sexual content if not straight out porn in parentheses cuz we dont need to be spending money to “do it”

  • songbird

That is HILARIOUS! I love it! Where’s the downside? I don’t see it! Oh, wait, emotional connection with another human being. That’s what girlfriends are for… hahaha

  • Tarrilyn

    LMAO!!! That was hilarious.

All of my friends were telling me how great your site was, so I finally decided to check you out. Well I’ve been stuck on your site ALL morning, so I just had to leave you a comment to say that I thoroughly enjoy what you do. I’ll definitely be coming back. Keep up the great work black man!

Like most things in life, every”THING” serves it’s purpose.

  • Ms. Miss

This kind of changes things for me not that I was wholeheartedly seeking one though. A lot of people have misconceptions on what the whole FWB thing is because the name is so deceiving. True friends you usually love, have met their family, spend time with them regardless of sexual needs or whatever. You discuss futures, maybe even take vacations together. Friends may have a few bumps along the road but if they are true friends will reconcile. All you need to add is the benefit of sex and you’ve got yourself a relationship! We need to coin a new term that means fucking someone you don’t want to be friends with for a prolonged amount of time be it exclusively or not.

  • songbird

    @Ms. Miss: Acquaintance With Benefits?

  • songbird

@Ms. Miss: Or how about just “SIF”, someone I’m… you get it.

  • http://www.flyguychronicles.com The Fly Guy

    LOL@ Songbird.

    That’s pretty funny.

    Friend: “Who is that?”

You: “Oh him? That’s just my SIF”

  • songbird

2FG: see? it can work! lol

  • ATLCutie

For a true FWB to work, both people have to understand and know whats up, what to expect and not to expect. However usually someone always wants something more, and its not always the woman. So I like SIF, maybe we can avoid all the drama that FWB usually brings.

  • http://www.flyguychronicles.com The Fly Guy

    @ATLCutie,

So do you think women are viewed as the ones who break the code first?

  • songbird

I’m chiming in… I think stereotypically people assume it’s the woman who always catches feelings, but it’s not true. I think statistically there’s probably more women who break the ‘code’ versus men, but men can be just as guilty of going into it and then wanting more. As much as society likes to pen men as heartless, they can be emotional and sensitive too, sometimes even more so than women.

  • http://www.flyguychronicles.com The Fly Guy

See I don’t necessarily think women change their minds more than men. Instead I think it’s the person that agrees to the arrangement second. 9 times out of 10, the person that suggests the arrangement is not going to change their position. It’s usually the person who says, “Ok cool, I can do that.”

But once they get deep into it, they realize that they want more. There are exceptions, but I think you’ll find this being the case more often than not.

  • http://www.keepmepostedblog.com KMP

LOL, this is pretty good. Never thought about it that way. FWB, hmm…

  • Ms. Miss

I think SIF is a MUCH better and appropriate term Songbird.

  • songbird

@FG: good way to look at it… I think you’re right about that.

@Ms. Miss: go ahead and start using it… it would be hilarious if we could start a trend with it – I should add it to urbandictionary.com… LMAO!!

  • Kendall

I need to post this to my bedroom wall!

  • LadyA

I have a friend with benfits now for the first time and i must say that it is nice. We have nothing in common and don’t really have much to chat about….so i seriously doubt that i’ll catch any feelings

LMAO @ the charts. This is totally the male perspective but on the contrary I know some females who think this way as well.

  • and1grad

LOL…Love it. Altho in the “Traditional Relationships,” I’ve been in or seen, the “Listening” part should have its OWN pie.
