Fly Lyrics

Sara Bareilles Can Feel The Gravity

I can still remember the last time my heart was broken. Despite the raw pain that was caused by her infidelity, for some reason, I still wanted her back. It was almost as if I was rendered helpless by this gravitational force which kept pulling me back to her. Can anyone relate? Have you ever had your heart broken, and even though the pain was immense, you still wanted to be with them? If you’ve ever experienced that confusing pain, then listen to Sara Bareilles’ “Gravity,” this week’s Fly Lyrics Feature.

The Lyrics

Something always brings me back to you.
It never takes too long.
No matter what I say or do I’ll still feel you here ’til the moment I’m gone.

You hold me without touch.
You keep me without chains.
I never wanted anything so much than to drown in your love and not feel your rain.

CHORUS
Set me free, leave me be. I don’t want to fall another moment into your gravity.
Here I am and I stand so tall, just the way I’m supposed to be.
But you’re on to me and all over me.

You loved me ’cause I’m fragile.
When I thought that I was strong.
But you touch me for a little while and all my fragile strength is gone.

CHORUS

Set me free, leave me be. I don’t want to fall another moment into your gravity.
Here I am and I stand so tall, just the way I’m supposed to be.
But you’re on to me and all over me.

I live here on my knees as I try to make you see that you’re everything I think I need here on the ground.
But you’re neither friend nor foe though I can’t seem to let you go.
The one thing that I still know is that you’re keeping me down

OMG, Beautiful Song FG! I’m still going through that right now with my ex. I know he’s no good for me, but I just can’t get him out of my system. The sad part is that he’s knows that he has that control over me, and it’s the most frustrating feeling in the world. I just want to be able to break free of those chains like the song says.

I was this person to someone else over a span of about…3 years =/

No, I’m not THAT heartless. Oddly, the reality of our situation didn’t even hit me until after we were done for good. After the “its REALLY over” shock wore off, I could see things much more clearly. And that’s when I began to see just how much pain my actions had caused him.

    *sigh*

If you’re into Sara definitely check out Greg Laswell, another indie singer/songwriter. They were both on the Hotel Cafe Tour together and although his music has a bit of a sadder sound, it should appeal to the same people. His newest song is called “How the Day Sounds” and it’s on his Myspace page and almightyjukebox.com
