Dear Fly Guy,
My girlfriend and I are having some serious communication issues right now. It seems like the longer we’ve been together, the harder it is for us to talk about anything. I know that we both love each other, but things just feel so forced right now. I really wish there was a way for us to get this part of our relationship turned around. Any suggestions?
Malcolm
Dear Malcolm,
I’m glad you’re actively working to improve things in your relationship. The last thing you need to do is grow frustrated and prematurely throw the towel in. A decision like that would probably be more regrettable than the time I attended an Olsen twins cooking class (we barely ate anything.) But my personal disappointments aside, the key to you righting the ship is to get back to the basics. Revisit the things that made the two of you click in the first place. Try taking her back to the place where you had your first date…unless it was somewhere like Dairy Queen. Outings like this allow you to reminisce on the good times that you’ve shared, which in turn promotes healthy dialogue within the relationship. Before you know it, the two of you will have rediscovered the spark that lit your fire in the first place. As the great philosopher Jesse Jackson once said, “Keep Hope Alive.” I hope this helps.

I can definitely feel Malcolm’s issue on this…but great sound advice from the Fly Guy as usual…I think I’m going to revisit some old dates…that all you can eat buffet at Golden Coral is calling…lol.
