Volume 40- How To Ask A Woman Out On A Date

The emails keep flooding in from guys all across the country that are searching for the answer to one very important question.

“What is the correct way to ask a woman out on a date?”

At first glance, the question seems fairly straightforward. But what most people fail to realize is that there’s actually a unique art to asking a woman out. Some men just take it granted, thinking that securing a date is about as simple as Mike Tyson’s vocabulary. That couldn’t be further from the truth though. So today I’ve decided to equip you with 5 Essential Keys To Asking A Woman Out On A Date.

Disclaimer:
My Fly Tips assume the following points.

a.) That she’s available.

b.) That she’s at least mildly interested in you.

c.) That you are presentable, i.e. fresh breath, washed faced, combed hair (pretty much any and everything that your mom wouldn’t let you leave the house without doing when you were a kid.)

If those things are in place, then the following tips are for you. If not, then I’d suggest you sit this one out until you can achieve more favorable conditions for yourself.

1. Get To The Point

There’s no bigger turnoff than you beating around the bush. This shows her that you aren’t a take charge type of guy. If asking her out on a date is the objective, then make that known up front. The more time that you waste trying to get to the point, then the more likely it is that you’ll commit an Imus…also known as putting your foot in your mouth. So make it short, sweet, and to the point.

2. Don’t Pass The Buck.

One of the worst things that a guy can do when trying to ask a woman out is something that I like to call the cop out. That’s when a guy hands a woman his business card and says, “Here’s my card. Call me if you ever want to get together.” That’s the wrong move. You’d probably have a better chance convincing me that Michael Jackson’s kids are actually his, than getting her to call you with this approach. So take some initiative and arrange the date yourself.

3. Originality Is The Key.

When asking a woman out, you have to come up with a unique date idea. The usual dinner and movie suggestions are cool, but are about as played out as Atlanta-based celebrities getting arrested. So think outside the box, and entice her by showing that you care enough to actually put some thought into your outing.

4. Relax

If you’re nervous when trying to ask her out, it usually comes across in your voice and demeanor. So practice being cool, calm and collected. If she says yes, then your expression should suggest that you expected her to do that all along. Even if she says no, you should still be cool. My suggestion: Watch plenty of movies starring Billy Dee Williams, as he’s the epitome of cool…just try to lay off the Colt 45.

5. Make Sure That She Knows It’s A Date.

There’s nothing worse than going out on a “I think it is, but I’m not sure” type of date. These occur when the man doesn’t make it clear up front why they are getting together. This can make things very uncomfortable at the end of the night when she hi-fives you, and suggests that the two of you could become great buddies. So make your intentions known up front, so she won’t just casually toss you into the friend zone.

The Fly Conclusion:

Now that I’ve given you the essential tips, it’s time for me to hear from you. What has worked for you in the past when trying to ask a woman out? And then on the flip side, what were some of the things that failed worse than Britney Spears’ attempt at motherhood?

Next week, I’ll change it up a bit, and teach the women how to ask a man out…and yes, you can ask him out ladies.
