From Me To You

I woke up this morning with a few words of encouragement that I need to share with you. I’m not sure who needs to hear this today, but please keep an open heart and mind to what I’m about to say. Each and every day, many of us get so wrapped up in the i’s of the world. The iPods, the iPhones, and to a greater extent, the iWishes. Never heard of those? They go a little something like this:

1. I wish I wasn’t so fat.
2. I wish I wasn’t so skinny.
3. I wish I had a man.
4. I wish I looked like her.
5. I wish I had more money.
6. I wish I had a better job.
7. I wish that he would treat me with respect.
8. I wish that she wouldn’t leave me for another man.

And on and on it goes. Listen, I know that life can at times be hard. I also know that it’s very easy to look in the mirror and not like with what you see. But for just one moment, I want you to sit back, and be thankful for who you are, and what you do have. There is something so unique and so special about you. And once you begin to embrace that, then life becomes that much more enjoyable. You may never physically look like Halle Berry…but possessing an inner beauty is so much more attractive. You may never become as wealthy as Bill Gates…but then again, being spiritually and emotionally rich is priceless.

So today, let’s begin this process of falling in love with God’s beautiful creation…meaning you. Because no one will ever truly be able to love you, until you learn how to love and be happy with yourself. Can you dig that?
