As I’m writing this, I’m peacefully soaring 20,000 feet in the air on a cross-country trip to Los Angeles. My iPod was just getting warmed up for an extensive workout, when I began to drift into this deep contemplative state…it’s the corner of my mind where only I have access. For the sake of transparency, I usually share everything, but this is my one secret hideaway.
Looking out of my window and down on the world below reminds me of the true magnificence of God’s creation. It’s mind-blowing when you really think about it. The world seems so small from up here. It’s amazing how something that looms so large, can instantly be minimized by simply changing your perspective.
The same can be said for problems in relationships. At times we allow things to consume us, deflate us, and ultimately ruin our psyche. Your problems seem so insurmountable, and you find yourself lost, with no feasible exit strategy. In the midst of this, I implore you to change your own perspective. Elevate your thinking. Elevate your self-esteem…your self-worth. Once you change your vantage point, things won’t seem so impossible to overcome. You may be able to save your marriage. You may gain the courage to approach that long-time crush. Or better yet, you may finally get the strength to walk away from that dead end relationship. Let today be the day that you rise up to a higher way of life. Once you do that, you can truly enjoy the gift and promise of a new day and a new way.
